A look at Google Play Music’s new design on Android

Among Google’s many product announcements at this week’s I/O conference was an update to the interface of its Play Music music locker service, which allows you to upload and store up to 20,000 songs online to listen to at any time on the web or an Android device. I’ve been using it since it first became available to UK users, and thought that I’d run quickly run through how the new version of the Android app works. Google at the same time introduced an integrated streaming service along the lines of Spotify, but as that’s not yet available outside of the US I’m not covering it – what I will say is that being able to seamlessly combine your owned and rented music libraries anywhere you go, without the need to sync, is a great idea and the kind of thing that you would have thought that someone else would have nailed sooner.

Anyway, here’s a quick video review of the new app design and a run-through of how the service works. Enjoy!
